I have been blessed to have been around this little girl since her birth. It’s amazing to see how life grows and changes in the form of a child. It reminds you to take care of time because of how precious it is and how each moment is fleeting in and of itself.
Mikayla is a bundle of energy. She loves animals and people. She’s always willing to lend a hand and is gentle as a lamb. She thinks everything tastes delicious, one of her commonly used words now a days, and she’ll just about eat anything you put in front of her. Especially lollipops.
Every native Lancasterian knows that Saturday mornings are market mornings. Lancaster houses the country’s oldest farmer’s market and trust me, it doesn’t disappoint. I tagged along with Mikayle and her father, Chris, for a little adventure downtown. We strolled around looking at all the different vendors but our last vendor stop was the most important. We stopped for cookies and milk. I have to admit, I kind of liked spoiling her with sweets but what made it extra special was that the owners of the booth had specially made cookies in the shape of a Unicorn. For a girl who loves animals, especially horses, a Unicorn cookie was perfect.
Once we were done at Market we walked over to a little fountain area that the city has. During hot and humid days you can find this water hole overrun with kids but we lucked out and Mikayla had it all to herself.
