Southern Charmed Fall Wedding at Historic Acres of Hershey in Hershey, Pennsylvania
When Rebecca Keeling Studios asked me to come on board as a second shooter little did I know how much I would fall in love with this wedding. Jake + Alexa had an intimate wedding, meaning, a small guest list, a smaller size, but still packing a mighty big punch in the WOW! department. I’ve been wanting to experience and shoot more smaller weddings, I wanted to feel the closeness during a wedding day and a smaller size tends to bring that out in a different way than a larger 150+ guest size list would.
Southern charm was brought to good ‘ol Central PA for Jake and Alexa’s wedding. And The Historic Acres of Hershey was the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding. With a guest list of less than 60 it really made the day feel like a reunion of family and close friends. Jake and Alexa’s love and devotion to one another was felt by all. They’re the kind of couple that makes you believe in love all over again. They’re the kind of couple who make me love what I do so much.
One of my favorites pieces on The Historic Aces of Hershey property was this huuuge willow tree. It’s also in the perfect location, right in front of the 1800s farmhouse which is a site in and of itself, and its a beautiful backdrop to the willow tree and the property’s pond. It was there that Jake + Alexa had their first look and it was truly one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever seen. Jake was beside himself in seeing Alexa for the first time, he just could not get over seeing how beautiful she looked.
The weather was threatening all weekend so on Friday night the safe call was made to move the ceremony into the property’s corn crib. While it’s still open on the front and back ends the sides are closed so it does give protection from the elements. The light was gorgeous during their ceremony and due to its size there was this warmth during the ceremony that made it quite cozy. From there the cocktail hour was moved to the chicken coop and then the dinner was moved into the barn. All of which was delicately and gorgeously decorated.
The style, the decorations, and the details that made up this wedding day were truly picture perfect. I honestly don’t know if I could pick a favorite part of their day, all of it was special and loving.
Now grab a tissue, sit back, and watch the love unfold.
