Candid Summer Evening Family Session at Middle Creek Wildlife Preservation, Lancaster PA

I’ve always just been a wedding kind of gal. And I was ok with that. But as of the past few months I felt like I was missing out on not photographing other parts of life. I had been rolling it around in my head for a while that I wanted to open up the possibility of photographing families so when Rachel reached out to me asking about family photos for her little brood I was more than ecstatic.

Josh & Rachel have a wonderful duo of spunky, lively, and beautiful little girls. Savannah and Emily were an absolute joy to chase around at Middle Creek Wildlife Management. Savannah, completely thrilled with her new skirt took to being our guide and led us all around the paths and showed us all the great spots. Emily, still a little unsteady on her feet, was perfectly content being attached to Mom and Dad until she decided she wanted to be little Miss Independent and march off on her own. It was pretty easy to keep up with her at least 😉

The family of four were so wonderful to spend the evening with. We made sure to capture photos of Mom, Dad, and the two girls in a variety of groupings but I was most content to let everything unfold in front of me and see how they function as a unit. It was the quick moments and side long glances that I was able to capture for this family that made this session to special.

Josh + Rachel, thank you so much for letting me photograph your family. I hope these photos are ones you can treasure for many years to come!
